Usually represents the stages in a process, with the intention of showing how each of the stages is performing. The most used case for this chart type is to show the potential revenue available in each stage of the sales process.
Usage Example
Create a funnel widget to visualize your Opportunities by stage. You will be able to let with a single glance at it if your sales process is healthy if its shape resembles a 'V'.
