Why the Banyan Tree inspired us
FreeAgent Banyan is our most expansive release yet, and one that we hope will add incredible value to you, our customers. It required an immense commitment from a dedicated team willing to take on challenge after challenge. We honor their effort.
The Banyan Tree became a natural symbol of this release because our work was done from March through December 2020, all under the constant siege of the pandemic. The Banyan is known for its ability to adapt, for the unique way in which it grows, and for its ability to expand. You see, Banyan trees can grow into the world's biggest trees as measured by the area they cover.
The largest Banyan tree in the world is found in India, located inside the Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Botanical Garden. The Great Banyan takes up around 4 acres (16,187 square meters) of land and continues to grow every year! It is so big that if you look at it from a distance, you would think that you are seeing a forest, when in fact, it is the Great Banyan.
One more reason why we loved the Banyan for this release is that it grows in many different countries, including Mexico, the United States, and India, right where our FreeAgent teams are located. Despite being geographically distributed in different countries, we remain united by the values we share, just like the roots and branches of this wonderful tree.
