This field type is a rather unique one as it stores no value, instead, it allows for an action to be performed. To create this field type you will need to create beforehand the following fields:
- Start Time - Date Time field
- End Time - Date Time field
- All Day - Boolean field
- Resource - Users Reference field
- Guests - Multi Reference to Team Members field
On the user interface, this field shows as an action with a label that you can customize, from "Select a Date", or "Pick a time". When clicked on, it will show a Calendar view so that users can add a new event.
There is additional functionality in the Calendar view, that allows you to select the time in the actual calendar, by dragging your cursor for the desired time slot.
It is a great way to help you find the perfect time to schedule a meeting with a potential customer or change the view from day/week to Resource Day/Week and you will be able to check if your team members are available to meet at that specific time. Great to keep collaboration efforts easy.
