If you would like to have access to Email Analytics for all the emails that you send out through FreeAgent CRM then you have come to the right place. Enabling Email Tracking in your Account will give you access to Email Analytics to know when your emails are opened and if the links within were clicked. This is a great piece of information to have, as you could plan your follow-up call right after that email was opened, or replace the call to action of your link if it is not being clicked.
In this tutorial we will cover the following topics:
- FreeAgent CRM Subscription Plan
- Access Level Needed to Enable Email Tracking
- Navigating to Email Tracking
- Enabling Email Tracking
- Special Considerations
- Email Tracking Domain - Technical Considerations
FreeAgent CRM Subscription Plan
Access to Email Tracking is available starting on the Professional plan and above.
Access Level Needed to Enable Email Tracking
This feature is available for administrators only. If you would like to have 'Email Tracking' enabled, reach out to your team's administrator for more information.
Navigating to Email Tracking
To get started, open the menu and click 'Settings' and then click 'System Settings' to display the available options, there click 'Email Tracking'. You can use the search function to get there faster, just start typing 'Email Tracking.
Enabling Email Tracking
To start tracking your emails, just click on the checkbox on the right side of 'Enable Email Tracking' and then click the 'Save' button.
From this moment on, all the emails sent through FreeAgent CRM will be tracked and all the information collected will be available in the Email Analytics section, under Activities.
Email Tracking is disabled as a default for all FreeAgent accounts. You will need to enable it if you want to track emails.
Email Tracking Domain - Technical Considerations
This is not a frequent problem, but due to the strict security standards of some email servers, emails with email tracking functionalities could be marked as spam.
In order to avoid this from happening, you would need to have your own domain. If you do, it is recommended that you configure a CNAME in your email domain that redirects to our email domain: freeagent.network. Once you have it, you will need to add it as the "Email Tracking Domain".
If you don't have access to create the CNAME in your domain and point it to freeagent.network, then we strongly recommend that you keep freeagent.network as the "Email Tracking Domain".
