Have you ever wondered how you could configure FreeAgent CRM in a way that would allow you to create invoices or quotes fairly easily without having to use other systems? Stop wondering! Lines are a super-sized enhancement to your Apps that will allow you to give them a boost of capabilities.

Access Level Needed to Create Lines
This feature is only available for Administrator users. If you think that your team could benefit from this feature, and you don't have access to the App Setup in your menu, please contact your team's administrator for further information.
Navigate to Lines
You can add Lines to your Apps under App Setup in System Settings. You can also use the menu's search to get there faster, just start typing the name of your App.
There make sure you click the option called 'Lines' in the top section.
Create Lines for your App
To create a Line, simply click the 'Add New Line' button.
Here you will need to add the name of your Line. You also have the option to select a unique icon for your Line. There are a few options for you to choose from. Quick Tip: think of the Lines as a "child-app" of your main app.
As soon as you click the 'Save' button the Line will be created and it will be available right next to Lines in the top menu. Click the name of your New Line to start adding fields to your Line.
Create Fields for your Line
Configuring your Lines is very similar to how you add Fields to your Apps. Just click the 'Add Field' button to get started.

Use Reference Join Fields Where Possible
Lines are mostly used to create a dependency relationship between your apps, as a parent-child relationship. Because of this, it is a good idea to identify those elements that you already have within your Apps and create a Reference Join field to get that existing data instead of having to input it manually.
Create Field Sections to Keep your Forms Nice and Clean
If you are planning on adding multiple fields to your Line, we recommend that you create Form Sections to divide them. To learn more about Form Sections we recommend this tutorial.
Identify which Elements Should be Part of the App, and Those that Should be Added to the Line
To explain this Pro-Tip lets use an Invoice as an example. There are elements in the invoice that are part of the high level information, meaning the App (1), while there are others that belong to the table inside the invoice, those correspond to the Line (2).
