It is possible to export a CSV file from LinkedIn that includes your connections so that you can then import them to FreeAgent CRM.
Please note that the export file is managed by LinkedIn, so there are a few things that you should be aware of:
- The export information will only include the contact's First and Last name, email address, current employer, position and the 'contacted on' date.
- The export file isn't automatically generated, there is some waiting time depending on the amount of information, and could be around 10 minutes or after 24 hours. The file generated after a few minutes includes basic information such as messages, connections, and contacts. The second file, after 24 hours, contains your complete information including your activity and history.

Then click on 'Request archive'. Here you might be requested to enter your password, for security reasons. If so, enter your password on the 'Password' field and click 'Done'.
You will receive an email address from LinkedIn to let you know that your first download file is ready.
The email will include a link to download the file or you can simply head back to the 'Download your Data' section.
As a security measure, LinkedIn recommends that you download the file using a personal computer.
Import your LinkedIn CSV file
Once you download the file, it is necessary that you make a few changes before importing it to FreeAgent CRM. All you have to do is make sure that the column names match those on FreeAgent CRM.
If you exported all the files, the one that includes the contacts data is called 'Connections'. Double click on it to open it.
If you are using the default configuration of FreeAgent CRM, then you will need to change the columns Email Address, Company, and Position (1) to Work Email, Account, and Title (2).
If you have configured the fields within FreeAgent CRM, then you can review the column names by going to your portrait, then click on 'Settings' (1). There click on 'Fields' (2) on the right side and then select the 'Leads' fragment (3). There you will find the column names you will need to use on your file.
Once your file is ready, make sure you save it as CSV. Then click on the Leads tab, then 'Things You Can Do' and select the 'Import Leads' option.
Then click the 'Upload CSV file' button and select the file from your computer.
The file will be processed by FreeAgent CRM to create your Leads. Click on 'Done' to dismiss the message. Note that this process can take a few minutes to complete depending on the number of leads you are trying to import.
Well done! Now you can manage your LinkedIn contacts within FreeAgent CRM.
