Export all your accounts to a single file, or customize the information that the CSV file will include within FreeAgent CRM. It is especially important to do so if you are making use of custom fields and you wish to add them to the export CSV.
Export all your Accounts
To do a simple export that will include the default information for all your accounts, just go to Accounts, then click on 'Things You Can Do' and select 'Export CSV'.
The download will start automatically, and your file will be saved in your downloads folder.
NOTE: Make sure you don't have any active filters or saved views before exporting the CSV file to include all your accounts.
There are two options when it comes to modifying the information available on the export CSV: filters and list configurations.
Export data based on Filters
Filters are available on all the available views for Accounts: Rolodex, List and Board.
Click on Filters to display the available options. As you select each filter, the information will change in real time.
Once you are done selecting the filters, click on 'Things You Can Do' and select 'Export CSV' file.
Your CSV file will only include the information available on the view after applying the filters.
Export data based on List Configuration
With this option, you can include or hide columns in the 'List View', rearrange them, and they will be included in the CSV file.
Click on the list icon between 'Save View' and 'Things You Can Do' to display the 'List Configuration'.
Here you can select additional columns for your view and rearrange them by dragging and dropping them on the desired position. Only the selected columns will be included in the CSV file.
It is also possible to combine filters and list configuration, as described above, to further refine the information contained in the CSV export file.
You can always Save your View once you are done applying filters and changing the list configuration to avoid having to go through all this process again in order to Export another CSV file. To learn how to create a Saved view, please visit the following tutorial:
Edit your Account's information
If you already imported all your Accounts, but you would like to edit their information, or if you just created a custom field and would like to update it, then the easiest and more straightforward way is to export a CSV file, update it and then import it, as described in this article.
It is necessary that you first create your custom field and make sure it is active.
Then proceed to add the custom field to the List Configuration. Just click on the checkbox and the custom field will be added to the view and the export CSV file. All new custom fields are always located at the bottom of the list.
You can always rearrange the list by dragging and dropping the fields in the desired order.
